TOGAF to MODAF Mapping

The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) is an industry standard Enterprise Architecture framework widely used throughout both industry and government. One of its greatest strengths is that it provides step by step guidance on the process of managing Enterprise Architecture using the Architecture Development Method (ADM).

MODAF is a Enterprise Architecture framework, originally created by the UK MOD, that provides the rules on how an architecture can be presented in a consistent way; thus maximising the potential for reuse and the ability to federate/integrate different architectures. Although created for defence, the framework is defence neutral and will bring significant benefit to any commercial or government organisation.

These two architecture frameworks each fill a different role and can work together to give you a comprehensive and complete set of guidelines on how to go about creating, managing and presenting a true scalable Enterprise Architecture.
